What to do when running hurts

I did a 7 mile run on Monday, 3 x 1600 @ pace on Tuesday, I took Wednesday off, and Thursday's scheduled run of a 55 min tempo turned into 20 slow minutes because my right shin is so angry!
I've been doing a lot of
And
And my run today was actually a walk ;)
I did a faster walk (15:00 pace) for .5 mile, then did some strength training for about 10 min. I repeated this 4 times. The best news is that my shin isn't too mad! I'm currently icing and then following up with heat.

Monday = no school
Tuesday = Titan Quest (matching shirts and jeans)
Wednesday = repeat from Monday ;)
Thursday = ootd
Friday = work shirt ;)
Easy clothes week!

Tomorrow the hubs and I are participating in an obstacle course, I'm praying my shin holds up and that I can attempt a run on Sunday morning.

Week in Running and a Boo and a Woohoo!

First, my week in running went something like this
I did my long run this week on Sunday and this Saturday, both with friends (yay! bc the treadmill was burning me out!!) Hence, the strange times ;) Sunday we ran to Panera for breakfast and today was to Generals for milkshakes!
Okay, so my boo is that I'm getting shin splints :( I lent my compression sleeves to a preggo friend to help with her swelling so I used the hubs (I wore two on one leg). It doesn't feel too much worse after my long run today.

And my 2nd boo is that the pug has major allergies which has led to a face, eye, and ear infection. $250 and 7 medications later...
She's already feeling much better (woohoo!)

Now, my woohoo! My fav outfit this week
And this may have happened today (on clearance!!)
I'm counting the seconds till it's done charging!

Fave Run Done

My absolute fave run is an out of town/new spot run, but besides that I have a favorite spot in my city. It's along a golf course and the road is really wide. Bonus, it was sprinkling! 7.13 miles @ 8:13 pace. Nothing crazy, I tried to just appreciate the run today.

Glasses Rx for the girl and I

I chose these :)
And I wish I had gotten a pic of the girl's black with royal blue on the inside!

We finished the day with Olive Garden and a nap :)

Week in Running

I did a lot of treadmill running this week. It's been chilly and my running partner is injured :(

Finished off the week with 32 miles
Sunday I decided I needed to run with friends! So, I ran a 1 mile warm up on the treadmill and we met up for 10 miles ending at Panera for breakfast.
It was exactly what my soul needed!

Then 20 min for a quick shower, then off to church!
Church was followed by lunch, naps, then family dinner with the in laws.

And now, back to work! Happy Weekend!

Week in Running

Ah, the first week of the New Year!!

The family and I all wrote out our goals for the year. Luke takes the cake!!
Sweet guy!!

My week in running:
My legs have been fairly tired and sore, and I had to push through the long run this weekend. I actually did it on the treadmill with the hubs sitting next to me watching Making a Muderer (highly recommend!!) and I finished by icing my sore shins
So far, my goals are going great! I'm debating on a 10k race this weekend (+ a few extra to hit 11 miles). The hubs is officially out of the 2/7 race :( So, after his knee heals up a bit we'll probably go back to Boot Camp since his body tolerates that pretty well.

Happy New Year!

We had our friends over for the week after Christmas, so we had a staycation! We played lots of board games, went to Rush (a trampoline place), went on lots of walks, ice skating, and Magic Mountain twice!
And today we are celebrating my favorite person's birthday!!
New Year Goals:
1. Kiss my kids good night every night
2. More family walks
3. Family date night each Friday
4. Less stress!
