Week In Running

This was a good running week for me. I ran with a xc coach on Tuesday and went my longest distance since January and he gave me some tips on how to better my form. I only had a tad bit of discomfort in my foot. And I got some cool new kicks
Then on Saturday, I hit the treadmill since it was over 100 degrees with the intention of doing between 6-7 but I felt so great that I decided on 8. Once I got to 8, I thought I'm only 2 miles away from 10. I have a love/hate relationship with the treadmill so to make it more interesting I jogged 3 minutes at 6.7 mph, then ran 1 minute at 8.0 mph. I started on a 1 incline and did 2 rounds of switching off between jogging and running then I went up to a 2 incline, did 2 rounds on that. I continued that until I went up to a 4 incline and I peaked at 9.0 mph for my sprint and then worked back down to a 1 incline.

Since I am a teacher and have the summer off, I have been cleaning and rearranging and I came across this sweet pic of the hubs
Yesterday, we started the week off with a trip to Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags. We were greeted by an incredible sunset as we left last night.
And my running week totals:

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day with sleeping in until 8am! Ha, that sounds like a joke but it's not! The kids got hubs some new flip flops and I got him a smoker. He's already deciding what he will smoke next week :)

Running totals:
21.3 for the week.
Monday 3.3
Tuesday: 0
Wednesday: 4
Thursday: 5
Friday: 3 + walking water park all day ;)
Saturday: 0

Water park pic

This next week will be a recovery week for my x-country runners. I will make sure to do harder runs on my own time. I'm meeting up with a local coach to help me with my form and breathing on Tuesday, so I'm excited about that.

My war wound for the week
Dumb walking planks!

Mady's hair today was just way too cool!

15th Anniversary :)

The hubs and I went to Napa for our anniversary. It was the first time there for both of us. We started at Castello di Amarosa, which is a castle that was built in 2007. It took 12 years to build and a lot of the materiels were brought in from Italy. It cost 41 million just in materials.
Then we went to Sterling Winery and road a gondola up the mountain. There was some amazing views.
We had delicious Thai food for dinner and of course some wine ;)

The following day was our actual anniversary so we woke up at 5am and got ready for our hot air balloon ride. I gave the hubs 15 gifts starting at 5am and then continuing every hour until 7pm. Most of the gifts were small like chocolate and Chapstick :) I was scared that I would be terrified on the balloon but it was amazing and I wasn't anxious at all!
We finished with brunch and champagne. This was an unforgettable bucket list item and I whole heartedly recommend it, even for people who are deathly afraid of heights like me ;)

We headed back to the hotel for a 5 mile run and some relaxing by the pool. Then we headed to Kendall Jackson for a flight. Their grounds were beautiful and the wine was good. Next we went to Korbel for a snack and some champagne tasting. The tasting was free and super yummy.
Then we hit Cattlemen's for dinner.
The food was great, the service was terrible. Honestly, that was probably our only negative experience on our trip.

The next morning we ran 4 miles, hit the pool, and headed home. We got to eat at Freebirds on the way home (yay!!) I could have definitely stayed a bit longer. It was an amazing trip!

Running Week :)

Sunday 5 miles @ 9:30
Monday 4 miles
Tuesday 6 miles
Wednesday - travel day & 20,000 steps at Magic Mountain
Thursday - 4 miles
Friday - 3 miles of hills + strength
Saturday - 4 miles

For a grand total of 26 miles (finally!) Only Sunday and Friday were outside. This heat is getting ridiculous!

We are finally doing some decorating after being in our house for just over 2 years.
I'm going to change the candles to teal. I also bought peacock feathers for our purple vases. Can you tell I need some color in my life?

I found a teal and purple plate yesterday but didn't purchase it, so I plan on going back to get it and maybe some small candles or jars to go next to it on the top shelf.

And I think I may have to purchase this pillow :)
Next up, I want to figure out what to do above my kitchen cabinets.

This is super random, but his comment totally wins:
Have a blessed Sunday y'all!

Home Sweet Home

Our plane was only delayed an hour rather than 2 this time. Ugh. It left at 7am which meant a 3:40 wake up call for us. Only Mady slept on the plane.
That is until the crying babies woke her. I watched "The Best of Me," and I recommend it!
Then we landed in LAX at 8:30 and headed to Magic Mountain for the day.
The kids finally dozed on the way home, after 20 hours of being awake.
And now we're home! I think Dory was super excited to see us!
And now back to normal! I slept till 9 yesterday and I've kept up my running streak! 9 days, no running on traveling day but we did walk about 11 miles at Magic Mountain and then 4 treadmill miles yesterday. Today is hill day with my x-country team. Happy Friday y'all!

Best Friend Day

So, I took my bestie to get a pedicure while the hubs stayed home and watched all 6 kids!
And this is why I love him :)

It is so cray humid here! I'm really digging some of the Pinterest treadmill workouts. This was after yesterday's easy 4.
And how my hair looked today after 6.2
We are heading back to LAX on a 6am flight tomorrow morning (yowza!) And then we plan on stopping at Magic Mountain on the way home. Eek. That may have been a little optimistic.

Family Date Night

We always make it a point to hit up Papasitos while we're in TX. They have the best fresh flour tortillas!
Mady even let me braid her hair
I did a short 3 miles today because tomorrow will start 1/2 marathon training!!! I feel confident that my silly feet should be okay!
Today was a much needed pool day.
And I am in love with Mady girl's sunglasses.
Of course Lukey had to catch some kind of bug while we were out today
I'm trying to talk the hubs into running with me tomorrow. It'll only be 5 so I think  may win this one.

1 sentence per pic

Chicken tacos with this amazing dressing, awesomesauce!

I tweaked this to 5 miles with 3 1:00 walking intervals towards the end.

Not too bad

And these sweet babies

Summer is off to a pretty good start! And the best news is that my foot is still feeling great, even with 20 miles this week and my rib is starting to feel better!

Texas Running

We are visiting out besties in TX for the week. My soul seriously feels complete when we are here. I've actually run 3 days in a row! 5 miles on Monday @ 8:44, 4 miles Tuesday @ the same and 6.2 for a 10K today! I used this
And I tweaked it to go a tad bit faster and longer. It felt pretty good.
Running in TX (even inside) is no joke!
The good news is that my foot feels awesome! The bad news is that I think I strained a rib while I was sick last week (dang coughing!) and breathing, sleeping, and running all hurt :( I'm not sure if I want to give it the proper time to heal without moving. Oy.
