Yesterday was an emotional day. Our chihuahua is almost 15 and sort of on her last leg.
Thankfully, she is still quite happy to be around so hopefully antibiotics will help her to stay comfy a little longer.

I also had a student go in for routine sinus surgery and end up in ICU needing a blood transfusion. Thankfully, he is doing much better today.

Some good news though, I saw my podiatrist and he was shocked at how well my rupture is healing, yay! He told me that I can start (continue) running on it and to keep icing and splinting because there is still a bit of fluid on the tendon.

My Week in Running

I was actually able to run twice with NO pain last week! 3 miles miles on Tuesday morning. I tried again Thursday afternoon and didn't quite make it two miles because my other foot started to hurt :( But then I made it 4 miles on Saturday at a reasonable speed (8:45).

My running coach told me to act like I'm an obese runner trying to lose weight. Ha. I think what he means is, take it slow.

I bought two pairs of orthotic sandals and they are not ugly!
We got to celebrate my sweet nephew's 2nd birthday yesterday!

I even wore them for date night last night. We went to watch our friend's band play and then to watch Insurgent. Fun times. And my hair was on point. I'm finally at that age where I am looking for a bit more coverage in my makeup, but at the same time, everything makes me break out. Ugh.
I see my podiatrist tomorrow and I'm 95% sure he's going to release me!

I'm still not back to running :( The most I have ran is 4 miles but with a break in between each mile and had pain the following day. I finally got my orthotics (doctor's office forgot to order them!) and I decided to do PT, even though my doc thought I would be fine without it. He's right that my foot is healing but I don't ever want this to happen ever again!

We started spring break with the wedding of the hubs' former student and our best babysitter ever. If her wedding is any indication of how much I will cry at my own kids' wedding then they are in for it!
We then spent two days with my folks at the cabin followed by 3 days at the beach with our friends.
And of course we had to feed the animals at Avila Barn
And we ate at Firestone and got ice creams at Docs before heading home.
I am not even sure what the workout plan is today, other than I am working out :) I am 3 for 5 this week even with traveling.
