I had an English conference in San Jose. I spent 4 days geeking out with other English teachers and it was pretty great. San Jose has some amazing eats and the weather was beautiful while I was there. The hubs had a conference in Sacramento the first two days and then joined me in San Jose afterwards. We found a great Greek restaurant
and we finished off the night with The Imitation Game. It was a good movie. Benedict Cumbervatch played an amazing lead character.

Overall, it was a successful trip.

No running :(

My last run was on 1/31/15 and I PR'd a 1/2 marathon. But, in the process I tore my plantar fascia. I had an MRI about 2 weeks ago and I was finally able to meet with my doctor. He gave me a few different options and he felt shock wave therapy would give me the best results. Unfortunately it's not covered by insurance but it's the most effective and least invasive. It's also crazy painful. I've had one treatment so far and it was maybe the worst 4 minutes of my life. Only 2 more treatments to go. He's hoping I can start running in 4-6 weeks after I get comfortable with my orthotics. Here's a video about shockwave therapy.

In the meantime, I can do anything that doesn't pound my feet. I did kickboxing yesterday and I tore up my shins and knuckles. Sheesh. I can't win for losing.

Valentine's Day

We don't do a lot to celebrate V Day around here. I like to do dates/special stuff often anyway. We did go out to dinner and a movie. And of course we got the littles a little something
And I took the girls for manis
And we finished off the day with pizza and Into the Woods - such a strange movie.

Visiting the Bestie in TX

Of course the first thing I had to do besides hugging her sweet face was go to FreeBirds
And more food
And dessert
And drinks
And it wouldn't be a trip to TX without a friend tattoo to commemorate it
I love these women. They have been through jobs, babies, heart aches, mountains and valleys with me. These girls are food for my soul.

I woke up this morning to this
I am guessing that perhaps the tendon ruptured. It's not too bad to the touch, but I can't walk on it. BIL was nice enough to let me borrow his knee scooter and I'm am definitely calling the podiatrist first thing in the morning.
