My test results for Valley Fever are negative :) I'm following up with my gp next week.

I got a new job!! Well, the same job (teaching) at a new school. I will now be teaching at the school in the community in which I live and my kiddos will attend, and the hubs works there too. I am beyond excited for this new opportunity. But with a new opportunity comes moving a classroom and planning for two grade levels that I have never taught before. My anxiety has been a little through the roof. However, my classroom is now set up and my master's classes are finished (except for my thesis, which I will write in the fall). Here's Dory helping me finish up at midnight last night.

Did I mention that I also threw together (with the help of some awesome ladies) a baby shower in less than 24 hours?? Our hostess got really sick so I stepped in. I'm happy with how it turned out with such little planning time.

Because I'm sleeping so terribly, I haven't felt much like running :( I've hit the treadmill a couple of times this week and it will happen again today. I have a 1/2 marathon in 2 weeks, so I have to make sure this body is ready! 5 pace miles today. NBD.

After finishing up my classroom yesterday, this was our reward.

I'm pretty sure we'll have to follow suite today :)

Home sweet home

This last week has been vacation detox! Clocked 18 miles :) And the hubs is coming home from work training for the weekend so we get to do our long run together. I'm only scheduled for 6.2, but he is scheduled for 10 so I will most likely skip my 3 miles on Sat and run with him instead. I'm so glad to see him after a week and 2 days!!

Outfits for our Disney run:
The hubs has coordinating shirts ;)

Minor fender bender Wed night. I was side swiped as I was backing out. The boy/man who hit me felt terrible. Only $1100 worth of damage to my car but his bumper was in his tire. Boo!

Then I had a swollen lymph node the next day, the doctor assured me it's completely unrelated to the accident and tested me for Valley Fever. He offered muscle relaxants, no thank you ;) There's a difference between pain and soreness. I'll take soreness any day.

I also rubbed a blister on the side of my boob from chaffing. That's never happened before!

Lake Tahoe

Homework vacation style. Just 2 more classes!!
2.5 mile uphill hike to this
Then 2.5 mile jog downhill

Boat ride with my favorite girl!

8 hr drive home, mostly in rain, on winding roads. 2 puking kids, blech!

And someone is very glad we are home!
10 mile treadmill run yesterday because the hubs isn't home. No fun, but got it done!

Last Leg

We got to see Grandma and 3 uncles, 4 cousins, and an aunt in OK.
Their dog was awesome
And downtown Guthrie was pretty cool
We tried Braum's. It was yummy! Chicken sandwich and Reese's ice cream :)

Then on to Flagstaff to visit our other Grandma!
I found an awesome trail near our hotel
1 1/2 miles up the mountain :) Total of 4 miles @9:30. Yup, that sounds slow but did I mention Flagstaff is 7200ft elevation!

Now we are on our last leg of our trip in Lake Tahoe, California! It's beautiful and so much cooler here. We're planning on doing a lot of relaxing here. But first our long run
9 miles at 6200ft elevation. I cried at mile 8.5 because I couldn't catch my breath. We did 3 miles this morning at 9:10 which is still slower than my normal but I'm not pushing anything crazy in this altitude. We still have 8 miles for this week and I'll probably wait until we get back home to do the next long run :) I'm hoping it'll feel easy after all these crazy running conditions we've experienced.

So long Texas

We are heading to OK to visit the hub's cousin and his grandma. We've never been to OK, so I'm excited to visit a new state.

A pic from this morning
This totally depicts our last 2 1/2 weeks with our friends. They were super generous and let us and our crazy littles stay with them. My kids are going to miss their friends. Goodbyes suck.

Highlights from Katy:
*Thunder & lightening, we don't get this in Cali
*The Crocodile Encounter
*Blue Bell ice cream, holy cow!
*Running in a new city. My fav was along the Mason Creek. We even saw turtles in the creek.
*Crazy lightening and fireworks at the same time. I'm sure that's safe, right?
*Getting to love on my best friend's kiddos. It amazes me how much love we are capable of.
*Playing charades with the adults ;)

More vacay

Can you tell what I do for a living yet? We haven't been home in 22 days :) I sort of miss it but I am loving hanging with these girls
I have never watche fireworks in the rain. It was pretty cool but I don't know whether I enjoyed watching the lightning or the fireworks better :)
Then the sky looked like this today
It was crazy. I felt my first real roll of thunder.

I decided that I must run in front of the hubs while out running because if not his sweat flings on me. Hopefully this summer of training in crazy humidity will be fruitful for some fall races!
