Kaepernick cough

The kitty missed us and let me know by keeping my feet warm
7 loads of laundry later...
The babes are growing oh so much. Here's to hoping B-man can ride California Screamin' at Disney this week.
We moved in to our house in March and decided to keep track of the kids' height on the pantry door so that if we ever move we can take it with us.

Family game night
And what B-man calls the Kaepernick cough

Fanatical

We ran a few errands this morning to get ready for our last Disneyland trip on our passes tomorrow! While standing in line I feel a tug on my index finger and when I look down this is what I see
Apparently Lukey is just as fanatical about peeling polish as I am.

After errands I made the best running decision all year. I ran 2.5 miles to the nail salon and since I made it there in 18 min. I decided to get Starbucks before my manicure. And then I ran home afterwards. Like I said best decision ever.
And yes, that is shorts I'm wearing on 12/31/13!
And the pic the hubs sent to me while I was out
This is my rescue kitty, whom the hubs pretends he doesn't like. Ha. Somedays I think she likes him more than me.

Happy 2014 you all!! I'm still working on my 2014 goals :)

Weekend in pics

Hill repeats. I have never been out of breath so bad. 5500 ft elevation.
Loving on hubby after the hill repeats and playing tag with munchkins.
I actually stripped down to my tank top while running. Who would have thought?

I loved seeing our door like this
Especially because we don't have snow where we live.

Our weekend was basically walks, tag, board games, and football.

The cabin belonged to my aunt, who passed away last January. I loved having pieces of her everywhere. I strive to be more like her and I love that we share our middle names and our love for books.
And the hubby's bottle holder cracked me up
And my lunch every day since Christmas

Home

Best thing about holidays: left overs :)
And seeing my pups like this warms my heart and makes my house feel like a home.
I'm starting to think about my goals for the new year and I like this form I found on Pinterest
Lastly, I am planning my hubby's 34th bday next week and we're doing a taco crawl in a Yukon limo. I am beyond excited and I'm currently putting my taco list together. I'm at 7 places + 1 dessert place... Yay! I'll keep you posted on the taco developments.

Cleaning house is the new workout

My middle guy is finally feeling better! Yay!

I decided that rather than doing a run this morning, I would clean up Christmas and clean our kitchen and living room since we hosted Chrismas lunch.
While I was taking decorations down, the kids finished their thank you notes
I decided that I will do some speed work on the treadmill. It will look like this
Those 400's are .25 miles :)

I will do that so I can burn off this
Seriously?! This is about 1/4 of what we had left over. Sheesh. Thankfully we are taking some friends to our family cabin and hopefully they will gobble this up. That being said, tomorrow will probably either be a fast 10K or a slower paced 8 miler. I will probably do a 40 jog at the cabin, my gps doesn't work there and they only have dial up (oh geez!) and there will probably be snow on the ground, not to mention it's at 6000 feet and covered in hills. Wish me luck!!

Sparkles and fairy dust

The day started with a 4 mile toy run! And I got a cool sweatshirt for it :) We were nice and slow and the BFF had to bike rather than run because of an injury :( Boo.

Here's the sweatshirt and the crazy cat who is currently laying on the husband and purring like a mad woman.

By the way, the best way to take a nap is next to that ball of furriness.

We had another quarantined to the house day except for the 2 mile walk to the friend's house to feed the dog and B ran 1/2 the way there on his own accord and then his fever spiked again :( Boo.

Christmas Eve Chinese food with the in-laws and then our elf bid us adou.

No cooking!

My middle (he's 8) woke us up at 4 this morning saying he didn't feel good. Praise the Lord he didn't throw up, but he did have a 102 degree fever and we were 2 1/2 hours away from home. The hubby tracked down some Tylenol and we made our way home today but my plans of last minute shopping were out and we quarantined ourselves at home, which of course means baking and monopoly.
And because after baking all day and wrapping gifts, I said no way to cooking dinner and the hubby picked up Baja Freah. Hmm, yum!
2 more sleeps until Christmas and I have a few small gifts to wrap for the kids and stocking stuffers!

Sunday Funday

The day started with an 8 mile run. It was a nice easy 8:30 pace.
And we saw these tiny little birds running in and out with the water.  I'm not even sure how people stay inside when they have a view like this! Amazing.

The day was filled with family fun at church and at the park on the beach.

Enjoy your Sunday!!

Not a lazy Saturday

Today started with yard sales. I scored on a toy for my nephew
And yes, I wore pajama pants while yard saleing (is that actually a word?)

Workout was a hike on the Madonna Trail. I wore tights and a tank top on the first day of winter. Yay for the beach.

I bought new laces. Are you team black or team pink?
And I saw this sunset
Have I mentioned how much I love being at the beach?

Tomorrow: either an 8 mile or a 90 minute run. I haven't decided which yet, followed by church & some beach time.

Five Friday Favs

Hot tamales. Yummo.
Clinique Facial Scrub. This stuff is always amazing but especially right now with the weather drying out my skin.
Estée Lauder Sensuous. I'm not a huge perfume wearer, but this stuff is yummy and the hubby always comments when I wear it.
Again with this combo. I'm loving the Sbucks Christmas blend, but especially with sugar free hazelnut creamer.
And lastly, Carmex. This stuff saves my lips during the winter. I don't go anywhere without it and I make sure to tuck it in my sports bra when I'm working out so that I have easy access to it.

Crappola

The hubby scored major points yesterday for bringing this home from his staff potluck. It's chocolate cake from a local restaurant, it's all about the frosting and yes my mouth is watering just looking at this picture.
I finally tried grilled cheese with jam.
It was pretty awesome.

Today's run was 6 miles at a 7:52 pace, which is pretty darn speedy for me :) I ran after work today (yay for a finals schedule!!) it was also after the staff potluck, which wasn't the brightest idea but still so much better than before the sun rose.

Somehow this happened while I was running. Thank goodness I'm getting my hair done today!
And crappola. Thank you Sbucks for making sure I got my money's worth.
And this combination. Amazing. It will rock your world. Even the Sbucks barista said so.

Why I love you

A Bike sprint workout this morning with friends. It was cold. And I've decided that I get the best workout on the bikes because I have a Schwinn while the other girls ride Treks. Yup, that's a workout.

It was a sad day today. I ran out of peanut butter for my bell pepper :(

And I got this email, double :( :(
Boo!

But then I got this text...
"At least it's getting some use..."
And then my day was better and I remembered why I love my BFF.

Hot chocolate and shopping

Today started with 4 miles mixed with push-ups, plank punches, jump kicks, and plank leg pull ups every 3 minutes. It was a warm morning at 40 degrees!
My girl had her speech tournament and placed 4th! She cried because she didn't place top 3. Sad day, but a lesson in being humble (for both of us!)

Lunch was leftover Thai food while grading...
Then I met the fam at the grocery store (I loathe the grocery store but especially during this time of year). The hubby needed hot chocolate for a "cocoa and cram" finals study event at his school tomorrow. I took the middle to buy an ornament for his ornament exchange and came home to realize that I forgot lettuce for pork salads... Thank goodness for my rock star hubby for running back to the store... It was worth it!
And the I realized I forgot the hot chocolate for his work tomorrow... And back to the store I went. That's okay, I decided to pick up apple juice so I could try out this apple pie on rocks recipe.
It was pretty good!
1 oz fireball
1 oz vanilla vodka
4 oz apple juice
A pinch of cinnamon
Garnish with a stick of cinnamon
